It works as a non-repayable grant for energy efficiency improvements and renewable energy production, paid directly into the recipient's bank account. It covers up to 65% of the costs for individuals and businesses, and up to 100% for public administrations in specific cases (e.g., municipalities with fewer than 15,000 inhabitants). The incentives are paid in a single installment or in annual installments (2 or 5 years) depending on the size of the project.
How it works
- Non-repayable grant: This is not a tax deduction, but a refund paid directly into your bank account within 60 days of approval of the application for amounts up to €15,000.
- Payment of installments: For amounts exceeding €15,000, the contribution is paid in annual installments.
- 2 years: For small-scale projects (e.g., heat pumps up to 35 kW, small solar thermal systems).
- 5 years: For more structural interventions (e.g., insulation, replacement of windows and doors, biomass generators over 35 kW).
- Request: The application is submitted online through the GSE portal once the work has been completed.

How to apply for the grant
- Submit the application: Send the necessary documentation to the GSE for the incentive request.
- Wait for approval: Once the application has been approved, the GSE will proceed with the reimbursement.
- Receiving payment: GSE transfers the total amount directly to the specified bank account.
Attention! There are some important points to consider:
- Irrevocable collection mandate: A useful option is to grant an "irrevocable collection mandate" to the installer, who will receive the incentive directly, thus allowing you to have a discounted invoice right away.
- Maximum limit of 65%: The incentive cannot exceed 65% of the total expenditure incurred.
- Submission deadline: Applications must be submitted within 90 days of the end of the work.
