The Role
The candidate will report to the Technical Director and fulfill a dual role: on the one hand, designing residential electrical and photovoltaic systems; on the other, developing the technical solutions that form the basis of sales proposals. The candidate will also serve as the point of contact for the Electrical department, coordinating a junior staff member already on the team.
Key Responsibilities
System Design
- Residential electrical system design: calculating loads and power consumption; sizing panels, circuits, cables, and protective devices (including coordination); designing lighting and power distribution systems, grounding systems, photovoltaic systems with storage systems, and charging stations for electric vehicles
- Prepare technical drawings: single-line and topographic diagrams, calculation reports, and supporting technical documentation for building permits, grid connection, and incentives
- Conduct technical inspections and surveys at customer sites as needed
Drafting Sales Offers
- Analyze requests for quotes and specifications, identifying the client's needs and challenges
- Prepare the bill of quantities to be attached to the bid, ensuring it meets the contribution margin required by Management
- Explain the technical and economic benefits (energy savings, self-consumption from solar power, return on investment) to support the sales team
- Technical Support for the Purchasing Department
Requirements
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering, or a bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical or Energy Engineering)
- At least 10 years of experience in the design of electrical and photovoltaic systems
- Knowledge of regulations and a commitment to ongoing professional development
- Experience in preparing bill of quantities
Preferred qualification: proficiency in Bricscad, the Namirial software suite, and Edilclima.
